Encourage One Another Daily!

Well it's been over a week since my last blog and a lot has happened! I'm really enjoying my internship. It's so humbling to see those kids come in there with serious physical, mental, and emotional problems, but still have a smile on their face and find ways to enjoy life!

This past weekend was the Focus Winter Camp and it was AMAZING!!! I made a couple new friendships and got to know a few people better than I did before. One thing I really took away from the weekend was from the girls' Q&A time with Eddie, Iasked him what he meant by "Watch your mouth"? He said that the only two things we are commanded to do daily are "pick up your cross" and "encourage one another". As Christians I think people look to us for encouragement (probably bcuz that's how it should be :)). It doesn't take much to get discouraged in this world... just turn on the news or pick up the newspaper. When I go to work I always here people complaining about our boss or this or that and I know that I'm just as guilty as the rest, but that really challenged me to start thinking and being positive. And it's kinda funny that many of us think there are so many other commands to do everyday (have a quiet time, pray, serve, etc.), but really those are the only two things we are commanded to do Everyday. So shouldn't we try our hardest to pick up our cross and encourage one another everyday?!?!

My first blog!!!

I'm really excited about this semester... I'm not sure why, but I will be busy and hopefully get some things accomplished. haha I started my internship today at Baylor's Our Children's House in Allen. It's a pediatric out-patient clinic for occupational, physical, and speech therapy. The little kids were sooo cute! I hope it will help me decide if this is something I want to do in the future and give me the motivation to get through some tough classes. ;)

Core starts next Monday for us and I'm also excited about that! Can't wait to see everyone again and hear how the break went!!! Adios :)
